PLMA is taking place at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre on 19-20 May 2026 and there are plenty of stores in the city to provide inspiration for retailers and suppliers.
Albert Heijn XL: Gelderlandplein 47, 1082 KZ Amsterdam
The larger-format flagship store of Ahold Delhaize carries around 30k SKUs and caters to a broad demographic including affluent shoppers, families, and expats.
Look out for:

Strong value messaging used throughout, signposted with its distinctive orange Bonus fixtures and gondola ends, and on digital screens.

Jumbo Foodmarkt: Gedempt Hamerkanaal 223, 1021 KP Amsterdam
The store is described as the largest Jumbo Foodmarkt in the Netherlands, housed in a converted industrial warehouse next to cultural venue De Kromhouthal.
Look out for:
The modern store design that makes strong use of the warehouse's original features, as well as natural lighting.
The broad range of freshly prepared meals from its Foodmarkt concept, that can be enjoyed in the in-store café or wrapped to take home.
Despite the stores upmarket look and feel, it offers good value and particularly stands out for its inexpensive prepared options.

SPAR University VU is a campus-focused convenience store, serving students and staff of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
