Eatwell economics report

The Eatwell Economics report analyses the opportunities and challenges of moving the population to the Eatwell Guide.

Aligning to the Eatwell Guide, the UK's dietary guidance, poses a significant profit challenge to retailers. To transition to the EWG under current business models, total profit from food will decrease. The growth in profits of fruit and vegetables and starchy carbohydrates aren’t enough to offset the decline in profits from protein, discretionary foods, and dairy.
