“Being a mentor is so rewarding, to see a mentee progress as a result of helping them overcome an obstacle through sharing your knowledge and experience is so gratifying and a role I would highly recommend”

Key details

Duration:

8 months

Cost:

Free

Running:

April – November

Format agreed with mentoring partner:

Minimum 4 sessions

We work with businesses from across the industry to match individuals with inspiring leaders and experts. The best part? It’s a cross-company programme.

Both mentors and mentees are matched with someone from a different, non-competing business, often bridging the gap between suppliers and customer partners, to spark new ideas and shared learning.

Please note that, due to high demand, we may not be able to guarantee a mentoring match for everyone who applies this year. While we aim to support as many individuals as possible, this will depend on both the volume of applications and the availability of suitable mentoring partnerships.

Benefits of being a mentor

  • Champion the next generation of technical talent in the food industry

  • Strengthen your leadership toolkit through hands-on mentoring experience

  • Share your expertise across the industry and broaden your influence

  • Offer fresh perspectives and help others see beyond their organisational boundaries

Benefits of being a mentee

  • Broaden your professional outlook by gaining insights from outside your organisation

  • Build confidence through a trusted relationship with a senior technical leader

  • Target specific development areas to strengthen your skills and accelerate your career

Is mentoring right for you?

This programme is designed for technical professionals who are ready to invest in their growth and the development of others across the food and grocery industry. You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You can commit to at least 4 mentoring sessions between April and November

  • You work for a supplier of food and grocery products, or a customer (i.e. retailer, wholesaler or food service provider)
