This document forms part of a series of guidance documents and industry learnings aimed to help drive consistency in allergen procedures and raise the bar of industry best practice.
This guidance is intended for manufacturers, processors and agents responsible for evaluating allergen risks associated with purchasing materials used in the production of products.

This document provides a structured approach for assessing allergen risks within raw material and ingredient supply networks.
Raw material supply chain network assessment template
This template should be used to aid the systematic mapping and evaluation of allergen risks across the upstream supply chain network for each raw material. The output of this assessment should be used to inform sections 8 and 9 of the raw material allergen risk assessment.
Raw material allergen risk assessment template
This template should be used to ensure that risks and control measures are effectively understood and communicated from source through to finished product manufacture.
Each section of the guidance (1-11) correlates to a numbered section in the accompanying template. This document can be used to provide additional guidance and context when completing the assessment.
