IGD is working with stakeholders across the food industry to develop a consistent approach to environmental labelling for the UK.
At the end of last year, we published a report summarising our progress on environmental labelling. The report covers two years’ worth of evidence, recommendations and considerations across the methodology and data, consumer facing label and governance for a consistent approach to environmental labelling for the UK food industry.
Building on the work we have done to date, our current focus is to develop a Toolkit for environmental labelling that would enable businesses who want to label their products to do so in a consistent way.
The IGD environmental labelling team holds virtual sessions to share updates on the latest progress on the Environmental Labelling Programme.
