The session intended to address practical challenges in consistently calculating Free Sugars in order to identify necessary solutions to ensure a level playing field across the UK food system.
This report provides IGDs aggregated summary of the technical challenges and potential solutions identified by experts during the roundtable discussions. Its objective is to inform ongoing dialogue between government, industry and academia on the practical implementation of the 2018 Nutrient Profiling Model, supporting efforts to ensure that the model is both scientifically robust and operationally feasible across the UK food system.
