Impact in numbers (in 2021)

  • Handled more than 98 million units of surplus food and household products, including 8.6m non-food items

  • Saved 34,590 tonnes of surplus from going to waste

  • Paid £32.9m back to the industry in return for its surplus, taking the total to more than £165m in the last 10 years.

What we do with the food

Company Shop Group sells surplus products at discounted prices through 14 member-only Company Shop supermarkets.

Surplus food is also sold in our award-winning social enterprise, Community Shop, which uses surplus food to support communities by providing vital access to deeply discounted food and life-changing learning and development programmes.

Operations

We've been handling surplus for over five decades and have all the necessary expertise and capabilities in place to take products from across all categories.

We are trusted by all major retailers, brands, and manufacturers to redistribute their surplus products, protect their brands, and deliver commercial, social, and environmental impact along the way.

Key programmes

Company Shop Group’s Luminary Programme is a pioneering mentoring programme for industry leaders which seeks to deliver a step change in intelligent surplus management and reduce unnecessary waste.

We have worked with industry partners such as Amazon, Bakkavor, Coca-Cola European Partners, Greencore, M&S, Mars, Morrisons, Nestlé, Nomad Foods, Premier Foods, Samworth Brothers, Unilever and Upfield to mentor teams of future leaders and rising stars across the industry, all committed to delivering the best in sustainable and social business practices.
