Rami Baitiéh is Chief Executive Officer of Morrisons. He joined the group as Chief Executive in November 2023.

Rami brings wide retailing and operational experience following a 28 year career at the Carrefour Group, where he served in various roles across stores, merchandising, supply chain and IT. Prior to becoming CEO of Carrefour France in July 2020, he held the position of CEO Carrefour Spain, Executive Director of Carrefour Argentina and Executive Director of Carrefour Taiwan.

Rami holds two MBAs, is a Colonel of the French Air Force and Space Reserve and an Official Mentor at Oxford, Cambridge and IE universities. He has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the Trade Institute in France since September 2020 and is a Member of the Board of LEAD Network (Leading Executives Advancing Diversity).

Trading Director, Morrisons

Andrew Staniland is the Group Trading Director at Morrisons. Joining the Executive Committee in February 2025, Andrew reports directly to our CEO and plays a key role in shaping the products you see on our shelves every day. With a wealth of experience in the grocery retail sector, Andrew previously held senior trading positions at Iceland (including Group Trading Director), as well as valuable roles at Waitrose and Aldi. Importantly, Andrew is no stranger to Morrisons, having previously worked within our buying teams. In his current role, Andrew is focused on ensuring Morrisons continues to offer you, our valued colleagues and partners, the best possible products and value. He is passionate about the future of Morrisons and our commitment to serving communities across the UK.

Matthew McLellan

Matthew McLellan

Chief Customer Officer, Morrisons

Matt has recently joined the team as the Group Director for Customer, Data and Media at Morrisons. His role is to use data and data science to drive sales and customer satisfaction, reduce operating costs and to build a world class Retail Media and Data Sharing business.

Matt is a seasoned retail leader with over 25 years of experience across Europe and Asia, and having lived in Paris, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur and London. Prior to Morrisons, Matt was the Customer VP at Asda, where amongst other initiatives, he launched Asda Rewards. Before that he spent 17 years within the Tesco Group, as Group Customer Propositions Director in Tesco, and Managing Director of dunnhumby in Asia and the UK & Ireland. He started his career at Safeway, on their graduate programme - so joining Morrisons feels like coming back home!

Matt is a retailer through and through, having been brought up in a village store in the Yorkshire Dales - his Dad taught him “Everything is better when you put the Customer First”, and Matt has strived to do that throughout his career.

Charlotte Exell

Online Director, Morrisons

Charlotte joined Morrisons in 2015 as Head of People, moving into various regional manager roles across London and the South before joining the online team. Charlotte is now the Online Director and is responsible for all online channels including Morrisons immediacy partners. Prior to joining Morrisons, she worked for Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury’s, and has held a variety of positions across HR, Operations and Digital. Charlotte has a BSc In Sociology and Politics, a BSc in Human Resources and an MA in Employment Law. She is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Fraser Lovatt

Market Street Director, Morrisons

Fraser Lovatt is the Managing Director of Market Street at Morrisons.

With over 17 years of experience at Morrisons, Fraser has held a variety of roles, including Category Director for Produce & Horticulture, Beers, Wines, Spirits, Tobacco, Dairy, Meals & Chilled Juice, Bakery & Cakeshop, and Core Grocery. He has also served as a Trading Manager and Buying Manager within the company. His current role sees him focused on leading and developing the Market Street offering. Prior to joining Morrisons, Fraser spent 7 years at Nissan Motor Corporation in purchasing roles, including Section Manager and Buyer for Vehicle Production Parts.

Amy Austin

Commercial Director for Fresh Food, Morrisons

Amy Austin is the Commercial Director for Fresh (Prepacked) at Morrisons.

She joined the business in 2016 as a Senior Trading Manager and has since held several Trading Director roles across key food categories, including Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Bakery, and Frozen. She also spent two years leading the Trade Planning function.

Before joining Morrisons, Amy held a number of senior trading roles at Asda, having started her career there on the graduate scheme in 2005.

A true food enthusiast, Amy is passionate about delivering great-quality food at great prices to more and more customers.

Simon Whittle

Simon Whittle

Commercial Director, Morrisons

Simon Whittle is the Commercial Director for the Ambient Trading department at Morrisons.

He has been at Morrisons for 12 years and has undertaken a number of Commercial roles across the business including Head of Commercial Operations and Category Director of Online & Wholesale.

Most recently he was the Commercial Director for the Convenience channel. Playing a key role in the McColls acquisition, business transformation and growth of the Morrisons Daily business. He also held a Non Executive Director role at the Association of Convenience stores.

James Walton

James Walton

Chief Economist, IGD

James, Chief Economist at IGD since 2004, helps businesses navigate strategic events like economic pressures, geopolitical change, and social developments. He has worked with clients across the grocery industry and beyond, including government, financial businesses, and NGOs. James joined IGD in 1999 and has held various roles. Before IGD, he worked at Hillsdown Holdings, Northern Foods, and Rank-Xerox.

How do I book 1-2-1 buyer meetings?

The Morrisons Trade Briefing 2026 from IGD offers a valuable opportunity to connect directly with a Morrisons buyer - whether you’re strengthening an existing relationship or engaging with a prospective partner. 

As the event approaches, you will have the chance to book a 1-2-1 meeting slot with your preferred buyer* through our dedicated 1-2-1 booking system. 

Important Information: 

  • Morrisons colleagues manage their own schedules, and meeting requests are accepted or declined at their discretion. 

  • To maximise your chances of securing a meeting, we strongly recommend booking as soon as the system goes live. You will receive an email notification when booking opens. 

  • Approximately 200 Morrisons buyers will be in attendance. If your preferred buyer is unavailable or not attending the event, you will have the option to search by category to find an alternative contact. 

*Please note: Buyer availability is subject to change, and meeting slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Where is the event taking place?

The Morrisons Trade Briefing from IGD is being held at Harrogate Convention Centre, King's Road, Harrogate HG1 5LA.

Is there a dress code?

Most attendees opt for business casual, we would certainly suggest comfortable shoes as you move around the venue.  

Can I get access to the recordings and presentations after the event?

Yes, abridged presentations and content will be available to view within 5 working days of the event ending. You will receive an email once slides are accessible via our virtual event platform and your MyEvents section of IGD.com. Keynote session recordings (excluding Q&A’s) will be made available on the platform for 10 working days after their release, after which the virtual platform closes. 

Booking details & communication

I am registered for the event but haven’t heard anything in a while. What should I do?

All communications regarding the event will be sent via [email protected]. If you feel you have missed any communications, please reach out to [email protected]  

I can no longer attend, could I please get a refund? Would it be possible to transfer my ticket to someone else?

A reminder of our refund policy:  

  • Over 30 days notice - Full refund  

  • 15 - 30 days notice - 50% refund  (or transferred to virtual ticket) 

  • Less than 15 days notice - No refund  

If you wish to transfer your ticket to a colleague, this is free of charge, please send over their details as well as those of the individual they will be replacing, to [email protected]. Please make sure the request is with us one week prior to the event to ensure access to the event app and virtual platform.  

Can I make a name change?

Name changes remain free of charge, we do ask that your request is with us one week prior to the event date, to enable access to our event app. Name changes must be made in writing to [email protected].  

Could I please get a VAT receipt?

A receipt will be sent to your company’s finance department once your order has been processed. If you would like a copy, please send your order number & request to [email protected].
