What we do with the food
The concept is simple. As a business, you simply update the app to show how much surplus food you have to sell.
Customers search the app for local stores, purchase the food via the app, then collect it at the time you set.
Rather than listing individual portions of food, you’ll fill a ‘Magic Bag’ with food that hasn’t sold in time, setting a reduced price that’s fair for you and the customer.
Operations
The food is handled by the stores, portioned into Magic Bags and handed to Too Good To Go app users at the end of the day.
Wider network
We partner with the charity Fareshare to help reduce food waste and put food in the hands of people who need it.
Key programmes/capabilities
Our Pick-Up Partner scheme helps our manufacturer partners sell their surplus produce by linking them up with smaller more local stores across the country. Manufacturers send their surplus produce to a Pick-Up Partner who holds it until Too Good To Go app users come to collect it. Making surplus produce more locally accessible.
Food Manufacturers: Through our Date Labelling Campaign we have partnered with over 40 brands in the UK (Nestlé, Tropicana, Danone) to prevent the waste of food and drink that is still edible at a household level. We do this by encouraging consumers to ’Look, Smell, Taste’ via an on pack label and a range of campaign initiatives throughout the year.
Testimonial
“Our business is very focused on fresh, and with that comes quite a lot of waste so we wanted to try and find a solution. Too Good To Go is the perfect safety net to stop our fresh produce from going to waste.”
