Expand your Horizons

Horizons is a cross-company learning programme to develop supply chain people from manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and food service companies. Participants experience different parts of the supply chain, work with people from other companies, and further develop their collaborative skills and behaviours.

100% of participants agreed that Horizons provided them with a greater understanding of their roles and helped make them more collaborative in their everyday work, both across functions in their businesses and with other companies.

How does it work?

Horizons 2018 involves:

  • 54 participants
  • 29 companies
  • 14 events

Groups of 18 participants from nine to ten companies come together in a stream and experience a series of events and workshops. The one-day workshops consist of a mix of activities designed to inspire and improve participants' supply chain, personal and business skills. Each workshop focuses on a different element of the supply chain, providing insight that the participants wouldn’t get in their day-to-day roles.

Participants of a stream are split into two teams and work on a project throughout the programme. The project pulls elements from each workshop together and culminates in a presentation at the final event with participants from all streams attending. This approach instils cross-company team work, helps cement learnings, and builds enduring relationships.
