We give young people opportunities to develop their employability and life skills.

At the core of our industry are thousands of people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) roles; including food scientists, engineers, web designers. The STEM skills shortage is widely documented across the UK and our research found that this is a consistent theme for the food industry as well.

IGD is committed to giving students the opportunity to better understand how STEM subjects are relevant to a multitude of roles and what they need to do to develop a career in STEM roles. Our free teaching resources, STEM-focused workshops and Year 12 food science summer schools do just that.
