GDP for August 2021 is now available from ONS.
UK economic output was up 0.4% in August, with major contributions from foodservice, arts, entertainment, recreation and accommodation.
These sectors performed strongly as consumers got used to the lifting of restrictions on 19 July to combat COVID-19 and private demand surged.
However, the economy remains 0.8% below its pre-pandemic level. With labour supply issues, construction contracted.
