Harriet joined IGD in January 2022 as Head of Sustainability, where she oversees IGD’s ambition to accelerate progress towards a sustainable food system. This includes mobilising the industry to tackle climate change, reduce food waste, increase food surplus redistribution and develop sustainable packaging systems. Prior to joining IGD, Harriet spent the last eight years as a consultant working with a variety of public and private sector clients to tackle sustainability challenges across the food and consumer goods supply chain.

Peter is a Sector Specialist for Food and Drink and part of the Business Collaboration Team at WRAP. He joined WRAP 6 years ago having previously spent the whole of his career in food retail. Working closely with the IGD, industry and other stakeholders Peter has led the work on the Food Waste Reduction Roadmap since its launch in 2018.

Francine is the Sustainability Manager for Food Waste at Tesco. She works with the Waste team across the business to set the waste reduction agenda and deliver against the Tesco objectives to reduce waste across the Tesco Group operations and throughout the supply base.

Dr Julian Parfitt is Technical Director within the Food and Agriculture team. His current role involves working closely with FMCG and retail clients within the food and drink sector on initiatives that support supply chain sustainability, open reporting against KPIs and development of roadmaps for delivering change. Julian has been providing support to Tesco on food waste reporting since 2014. He is an acknowledged subject matter expert on global food loss and waste and was the main author of WWF/ Tesco Partnership’s ‘Driven to Waste’ report on the scale and impact of global food losses in primary production.

Amber works on the Food Waste Prevention Policy Team at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. This team looks at how the government can work with businesses, NGOs and individuals to reduce food waste. Amber is the policy lead for the government’s planned consultation on mandatory food waste reporting by food businesses of a certain size.
