Prior to joining Ocado, Luke was a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group and previously Group Development Director at Sainsbury’s, where he was responsible for online and digital and all customer facing digital activities. During his career, Luke has also worked at OC&C Strategy Consultants where he was Partner and Head of the Retail and Consumer practice. He graduated from ESCP and holds a Masters in Business and Administration from INSEAD.

Victoria Cobos

Victoria is a passionate Supply Chain Leader with extensive experience in the FMCG industry, having successfully led large operations and transformation programs for Unilever, Nomad Foods and currently General Mills; specializing on network design, end to end planning, six sigma, innovation, procurement and capabilities building across emerging and developed markets.

Miss Cobos is familiar with the common challenges in operating VUCA environments and risk management, with a proven track record as a resilient change agent, envisioning the Supply Chain as a source of competitive advantage and driving value for both customers and shareholders through consistent performance and supply agility.

Alpesh Mistry is Suntory Beverage and Food GB&I’s Sales Director and sits on the company’s Executive Committee.

He joined SBF GB&I from multinational beverage company Molson Coors, where he was Director of Sales. Alpesh has a strong background in FMCG, having worked for Northern Foods and PepsiCo in a successful 18-year career.

As well as his commercial expertise and leadership, Alpesh has a keen passion for health and wellbeing company initiatives. As a positive mental health advocate, Alpesh supports SBF GB&I’s Growing For Good vision that allies revenue growth with broader societal benefit.

Dave Voss

European ecomm Supply Chain Business Partner, PepsiCo


Dave joined PepsiCo in 2018 to drive strategy for eComm Supply Chain in the UK, focusing on developing Customer Strategy and establishing a direct to consumer selling channel during Covid. He has recently expanded the role to cover PepsiCo’s European operations. Dave has 18 years’ experience in FMCG Supply Chains and eComm businesses, graduating Sheffield University with a B.Eng in Materials Science and Warwick University with an MBA.

Michael Pooley is a strategic thinker who has led large scale successful growth and change programs in Brambles and Exova Group. He comes with very relevant experience in our industry within pooling and retail whilst having worked over 25 years in business management, sales and operations. Michael is well-known for his digital knowledge with a focus on track & trace and big data analytics. He graduated in 1990 from the University of Bath with a B. Eng. (Hons) Mechanical Engineering and earned an MBA at the Henley Management College.

Jason Soar

Jason is an eCommerce fulfilment operations and automation expert. He has 30 years of experience in Grocery Retail across eCommerce, Logistics, Property and Store Development. Among his career accomplishments at Sainsburys, Jason created in the late 90’s the eCommerce operating model for store-based fulfilment and scaled it across the UK. As part of running operations, he pioneered the integration of a routing and scheduling technology with the consumer slot booking page, moving the business from a 2 hour to 1 hour delivery proposition. He went on to lead the design and development of Sainsburys automated Dark Store in 2013. More recently, Jason developed and ran the UK’s first ‘On Demand’ grocery delivery business called ‘Chop Chop’ At ThinkThru Jason relies on his extensive background in eCommerce to enlighten retailers on optimising store-based fulfilment, developing ‘On-Demand’ grocery as well as the benefits of both Dark Stores and Micro Fulfilment Centres.

Guy Cuthbert

From 2000 Guy made his name as the architect of ABS’ TradeSimple internet-EDI platform before taking the reins as CEO in 2004 and helping to steer ABS towards its 2006 purchase by Fourth Hospitality. Guy left ABS at the start of 2005 and formed Atheon as a consulting business to pursue his vision for data-driven business practices. Early in 2006, Guy discovered a new form of business intelligence software which presented information in a visual-first manner and from 2007 Guy steered Atheon to immerse itself in the emerging discipline of visual analytics. Since 2007, Guy and the Atheon team have pioneered the use of visual analytics in the UK grocery supply chain and established Atheon Analytics and SKUtrak as market leaders in their field.

Susan has built her career in the Food and Grocery industry. Currently, Susan is CEO of IGD, SID at AGBarr plc and Chair of Higgidy Ltd. Previously, Susan built her career in the food manufacturing and pub industries. Susan became CEO at Natures Way Foods and Eldridge Pope plc. having spent earlier years in her career at Whitbread and Geest. Susan started her career as a Chartered accountant at Coopers & Lybrand.

Chris Irish

Chris joined the supply chain team in 2016. He is responsible for producing insight that highlights new thinking, as well as helping businesses understand market trends and increase the capability of colleagues. Chris spent eight years with Tesco, leading a number of diverse teams to deliver availability, waste and inventory objectives. In this time, he also worked on several cross-functional initiatives and helped develop and embed processes to simplify the way promotions are planned and executed across the business.

Simon Mayhew is Head of Online Retail Insight at IGD. He leads IGD’s online research and manages the content for IGD’s ecommerce events. Prior to the IGD, Simon worked as Sainsbury’s Head of Online trading.

Kathleen McLoughlin

Kathleen is a Senior Supply Chain Analyst at IGD, joining in 2019. Before coming to IGD, Kathleen worked in demand and supply planning for a major fast-food chain and supply chain development in the fresh produce industry. She also has a Master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University. Kathleen heads up IGD’s supply chain benchmarking programme and is a regular contributor to Supply Chain Analysis.

James Walton

Chief Economist, IGD


James’ role at IGD is to help businesses anticipate and cope with strategic events, including: economic pressures, geo-political change, social developments and environmental stress. James is well known for speaking at both UK and international events and provides interviews for TV, radio and the press. He also creates original reports and articles for IGD. James has worked with clients across the entire grocery industry as well as with non-industry groups such as government departments, financial businesses and NGOs. James joined IGD in April 1999 and has served in several roles, becoming Chief Economist in 2004. Prior to joining IGD, he worked for Hillsdown Holdings, Northern Foods and Rank-Xerox.

Wassim El Attar

Wassim is a supply chain analyst at IGD, which he joined in April 2019. Prior to joining IGD, Wassim has had more than 10 years’ experience in supply chain management, having held various positions in procurement, vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and lean management, with a particular exposure to the automotive, fresh produce and home entertainment industries.

Alex Edge

Head of People Strategy & Solutions, IGD


Alex joined the IGD team in 2015. He is responsible for helping companies ensure their supply chains deliver for customers, delivering thought leadership research and best practice insight for the industry. Alex leads the people development and capability team at IGD. Alex previously worked in the supply chain team at United Biscuits where he was responsible for the Tesco account. Alex helped transform the management of the account and Advantage Group survey results.
