IGD is an education and training charity that sits at the heart of the food and grocery industry.

We run Feeding Britain’s Future an education programme that informs and inspires young people about the world of work and helps students to build their employability skills.

Last year, our school programmes trained over 10,000 secondary school students nationwide by providing them with the opportunity to meet with over 2,500 employees from 150 companies across the food and grocery industry.

We support schools to develop their careers programme by:

  • Helping teachers to link curriculum learning to careers
  • Highlighting relevance of STEM subjects in the workplace
  • Providing up-to-date labour market information
  • Developing students’ skills through encounters with employees
