Working on Waste

From 2014 to 2016 the Working on Waste campaign engaged nearly two million people nationwide, raising employee awareness of household food waste and sharing tips on how to reduce it.

The final stage of the programme connected non-competing companies through two interactive events ultimately creating a Champions Network to build lasting relationships and continue on the good work.

ECR Product and Packaging Waste

Over the seven years of this programme 260,000 tonnes of product and packaging waste was eliminated from the supply chain by 42 manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and foodservice organisations.

The project won the ECR Europe Award for Best Activation 2015.

Skills for Work Month

Skills for Work Month was developed in partnership with DWP and Job Centre Plus.

It was designed to provide young people and the wider unemployed with an insight into the food and grocery industry, equipping them with practical skills to aid their job search.
