Charitable Impact
IGD is a research and training charity which sits at the heart of the food and grocery industry. It has a trading subsidiary that provides commercial services. The profits from these commercial services fund the charity. As a charity we exist to upskill people working in or looking to join the food and grocery industry. We also manage initiatives driven by research and best practice relating to science, technology or economics in the food industry.

Current initiatives

Our aim is to support everyone working in the food and grocery industry throughout their lifelong learning journey.

Our Feeding Britain’s Future programme helps students develop the skills they need to succeed in the workplace and bring to life the wide range of food and grocery careers.

Our healthy eating programme brings people and organisations across the food industry together to inspire change and help improve the health of the nation.

We work with organisations across the food and consumer goods industry to develop and implement practices that reduce waste.

We help companies and government departments to prepare for Brexit, so that we minimise disruption for consumers.
