Additional funding to support those struggling to afford food

The Government has announced that an additional £63 million will be distributed to local authorities in England to help those who are struggling to afford food and other essentials due to coronavirus.

This funding is in addition to the £6.5 billion of support the government is providing through the welfare system.

This comes at a time when shopper confidence remains at one of the lowest levels on record, according to the latest results from the IGD Shopper Confidence Index (see LINK).
