Charitable Impact
IGD plays an active role in bringing the industry together to collaborate through education and research, and focus on specific issues. Our industry working groups represent the total food and grocery supply chain to tackle industry-wide challenges. Our groups are all open access and anyone can get involved. We share their work publicly to make the biggest possible difference.

Our current groups

Each group features a range of companies from across the industry and  operates strictly within our competition law compliance policy.

The Policy Issues Council (PIC) is a forum of industry leaders that debates the strategic challenges facing the consumer good industry, focusing on economics, employment and skills, health and nutrition, sustainability and science.

The Technical Leadership Forum (TLF) provides thought leadership on technical issues facing the whole food and grocery supply chain and to help inform IGD's work programme in these areas.

The HR Leaders Forum (HRLF) helps inform IGD's work programme in the area of People Development with the intention of meeting the training and education requirements of the industry.

The Supply Chain Leaders Forum (SCLF) champions Supply Chain Collaboration. It brings companies together to help them serve consumers better, faster, at less cost and in a more sustainable way.

Through research and training, the Industry Nutrition Strategy Group (INSG) provides early warning of challenges around diet, health and nutrition.

The Healthy Eating in the Workplace Advisory Group (HEWAG) supports and advises on pilot schemes to help employees make healthier food and drink choices in the workplace.

This working group advises our Feeding Britain's Future initiative. It ensures FBF supports young people in preparing for the world of work and exploring potential roles in the food and grocery industry.
