Ken Murphy, Group CEO, Tesco

Ken Murphy

Group CEO

Ken joined the Board of Tesco PLC as Group Chief Executive in October 2020.

He is a growth-orientated business leader with strong commercial, marketing and brand experience within retail and wholesale businesses. He has experience in global product brand management, product development, sales and marketing, sourcing, manufacturing and distribution.

Prior to joining Tesco, Ken worked for Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc for over 20 years in a number of senior management roles across the business. Through his role as Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer and President Global Brands at Walgreens Boots Alliance, Ken had overall responsibility for brand strategy and the commercial offer in the retail businesses of Walgreens and Boots. He previously worked for Procter & Gamble and Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC).

 

Ashwin Prasad, Chief Commercial Officer, Tesco

Ashwin is responsible for the delivery of the Product and Customer strategy across the Group. This involves building the Tesco brand globally to maximise the quality of our overall proposition to customers and for the planning, ranging, sourcing and supply of the products sold across the Group as well as procurement for the Group.

He joined Tesco in 2010 from Mars Inc. He has worked across a number of product divisions as Category Director and Commercial Director.

Ashwin joined the Executive Committee in September 2020.

 

Josh Bottomley, CEO, dunnhumby

Josh has spent his career leading differentiation, innovation and scaled growth in highly competitive, rapidly changing sectors.

Josh was Global Head of Google’s display advertising business after the YouTube acquisition and then spent seven years as head of Digital and Data for HSBC, including the development and roll-out of mobile banking to 30+ markets. Immediately before joining dunnhumby in 2023, he was an operating partner at CVC (private equity).

Josh spent his early career at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Co. He has an MBA from INSEAD and a degree in economics from Cambridge University.

 

Dominic Morrey, Commercial Director – Fresh Division, Tesco

Dominic Morrey

Commercial Director – Fresh Division

Dom started his career with Marks and Spencer and for over 21 years worked in branches with the bulk of his time spent in the food division across all product areas.

He then spent 11 years with the Booker business and performed numerous roles across the commercial division. During his time in wholesale he was instrumental in shaping the product agenda and delivery across the retail and catering sectors. He initially led the transformation of Booker's fresh offer, and then moved to the Commercial Director role for the Product function for 2 years.

Dom moved from Booker to join the Tesco team as the Commercial Director for the Fresh division in 2022.

 

Gordon Gafa, Commercial Director – Packaged Division, Tesco

Gordon has 25 years of commercial experience working in various category and buying roles in FMCG businesses. He is Maltese but relocated to the UK with his family in 2008.

Joining Tesco in 2011 as a Category Sourcing Manager, Gordon was then promoted in 2013 to Commodities Director, a function he set up from scratch. He then transitioned to Bakery, Dairy and Local Category Director in 2015, a role which he held for 5 years. In 2019 he moved over to lead the Booker Fresh Food team as Director of Trading.

Gordon was appointed as Commercial Director for the Tesco Packaged division at Tesco in February 2022.
