Keeping you safe

IGD is committed to providing safe and secure environments for our attendees in conjunction with the venues we choose. All local and national authority guidance and regulations will be adhered to by IGD and the venue team.

We will continue to monitor for any change to the guidance and regulation.

We fully comply with government guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 and have additional measures in place for attendees to follow to keep everyone's experience safe.

What's the format of the event?
  • In-person session with the leadership team on the core purpose and strategic priorities
  • Put your questions to Tesco’s leadership team during a live Q&A
  • Make connections and have conversations with key Tesco contacts in specific category networking zones
  • Attend a divisional update to hear the latest on performance, product plans and priorities and put your questions to the team
  • Our event app provides advance access, giving you time to prepare for the event and gain the most from the programme and venue on the day

The Tesco Business Update from IGD is designed to provide you with a great experience – to balance numbers the event is split as follows:


  1. The ‘Fresh’ programme will take place in the morning, closing at 2.30pm.
  2. The ‘Packaged’ programme takes place from lunch, closing at 5.30pm.

Please note that the main session content is replicated so you will only need to attend the morning and afternoon programme relevant to your category. Following your registration, you will be provided with further details and timings for the day.

Can I make a name change?

Name changes remain free of charge, we do ask that your request is with us one week prior to the event date, to enable access to our event app. Name changes must be made in writing to [email protected].

How sustainable is this event?

IGD and Tesco have worked to minimise our environmental impact wherever possible.

Central to this has been our focus on minimising food waste – with any excess donated to the charity post-event.

In addition, there will be minimal printed material and the use of recycled, recyclable and bio-degradable products wherever possible.

We track the carbon footprint of our events, so we can measure year on year reductions.

How do I communicate my accessibility needs?

We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive event experience for all attendees. If you have an accessibility-related requirement or request for this event, please let us know in your registration profile (which you’ll be sent once your ticket has been purchased). Commitment to diversity and inclusion

Inclusion and diversity are fundamental to our culture at IGD. We are committed to fostering a deep sense of inclusion to enable attendees to feel themselves at our events. The following measures are in place to support this:

  • You can include your gender pronoun on your badge, via your registration profile (which you’ll be sent, once your ticket has been purchased)
  • A dedicated prayer room is available to all faiths
  • Should you have any personal requirements outside of your business purpose at this event, please get in touch with our accessibility ambassador, Jennifer Bray who will discuss your needs with you. Jennifer will be available at the Registration Desk for the duration of the face-to-face event and can be reached at [email protected] before and during the event
Carbon impact of events

Virtual events have brought some fantastic benefits in the mission to reduce our carbon footprint. However, as we return to face-to-face, we’ll be putting measures in place to continue our mission in this area:

  • You will have access to our Event App which will provide you with an interactive schedule and map, digital resources and documents
  • We’ll be using recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable materials wherever possible
  • Food waste will be kept to a minimum, with suitable leftover food will be donated to charity post-event
  • We’ll be tracking our carbon footprint so we can reduce this year on year.

    • Travelling by public transport to the event
    • Utilising your time in Town to conduct other meetings around this event
    • Drop your badge and lanyard back to us at the end of the day, so we can clean and reuse this

The Tesco Business Update from IGD is being held at the QEII Centre, Broad Sanctuary, Westminster, London, SW1P 3EE
