Our Chief Executive and the Executive Team run IGD on a day to day basis. The team has experience in depth of both our industry and IGD and have played a significant part in making IGD as strong as it is today. Our strength comes from the commitment and drive of our people to deliver excellence.

Steve Barnes, Development Director
Steve was appointed Development Director in 2011 and is responsible for developing IGD’s UK market intelligence capability. The market intelligence team is responsible for a wide range of outputs including content for the Retail Analysis online service, benchmarking schemes and conferences. Steve works with the team and industry to direct the coverage and expansion of the programme to identify new ways to add value for IGD customers. |

Nick Downing, Sales Director
Nick was appointed Sales Director in 2005. His commitment to customer service and understanding of our industry means that he has driven significant growth of our online services. Along with other sales team members Nick travels extensively around the world introducing IGD to new customers and growing existing relationships. |

Fiona Stratford, HR and Finance Director
Fiona was appointed Finance Director in 2000 and HR Director in 2006 and has responsibility for all IGD support functions. Her experience, drive and people focussed approach means that IGD has robust financials and a strong HR framework to allow our managers to get the best from their teams. |

Jon Woolven, Strategy and Innovation Director
Jon became a Director at IGD in 1999 and was appointed to his latest role in 2008. His broad experience, background in economics and interest in the forces of change helps Jon to lead strategic research at IGD and assist our industry in identifying and tackling the challenges of the future. |

David Gordon, Director of Industry Development
David was appointed Director of Industry Development in 2008 and previously was Director of UK Research. David is responsible for our charitable programmes. His background in food retailing, depth of understanding of our industry and business focussed approach ensures that the work delivered is both impactful and makes a meaningful difference. |

Sashant Karkhanis, Director of IT
Sashant was appointed Director of IT in 2006. He has over 20 years experience in IT. His customer focus and business oriented approach means that our IT systems are robust and effective in helping us meet both our customer and internal needs. |

Louise Spillard, Commercial Director
Louise was appointed Commercial Director in 2011 and is responsible for developing IGD’s global research programme and driving commercial success worldwide. Louise's expertise encompasses retail and shopper insight, majoring on the future implications for the global food and grocery industry. Louise is also responsible for the customised research team, which delivers tailored projects to individual clients around the world. |
