Concerned at high levels of youth unemployment and driven by the desire to recruit capable people, the food and grocery industry has committed itself to an employability pledge to focus efforts. The companies pledge to build on a range of activities that will help thousands of school pupils and people from disadvantaged groups to develop skills and experience in a first class workplace. Attended by companies from across the food and grocery supply chain, Government and other key stakeholders this showcased existing initiatives, the sharing of emerging best practice and guidance and identified priority actions for the future. *
