About this tool
The ECR UK Load Fill Measurement Tool aims to give a quick and easy way of mapping utilisation performance against Department for Transport Food & Drink sector benchmarks.
The tool will illustrate actual performance and potential performance irrespective of fleet specification against the benchmark utilising seven key data points.
How to use the tool

Go to the input data tab |

Input the seven pieces of information, relative to your business, into the highlighted cells as shown in the example below.

Go to the weight vs cube tab.
The resulting chart will enable you to measure your performance in two ways:
- Your actual performance (blue diamond marker) against your maximum potential performance (red diamond marker).
- Your current performance against the industry average (red horizontal and vertical lines), this uses yet to be published 2009 survey data.
Please note that this is based on what is possible with your existing equipment.
It is also possible to use this tool to:
- Model what would be possible with alternative equipment.
- Model specific lanes and/or load performance.
