Sustainability affects business resilience, reputation and relationships. The strategic importance of sustainability for the food and grocery industry continues to grow, as it accounts for approximately:
-
14% of energy consumption by UK businesses
-
7 million tonnes of carbon emissions per year
-
10% of all industrial use of the public water supply
-
10% of the industrial and commercial waste stream
-
25% of all HGV vehicle kilometres in the UK

With the industry being challenged and challenging itself to reduce its impact on the environment and natural resources, you and your business will need to understand how sustainability impacts your role, company and relationships with others in the supply chain.
You will need to know what the key sustainability themes are, and what major organisations are doing to become more sustainable, along with what best practice initiatives they are implementing.
Combining latest industry thinking and best practice with the knowledge and experience of your tutors and fellow delegates, the workshop presents a highly visual and interactive view of sustainability across the supply chain.

- Improve your understanding of the interconnectivity of sustainability in your supply chain
