Cécile is responsible for IGD’s international retail market research. She manages a wide range of outputs including original research, delivery of training courses and commissioned briefings, and added-value insight for IGD’s Retail Analysis online service.

Cécile is an expert on pan-European retailing trends, closely following format evolution across the industry - from discounters to the rise of online. She has also published several studies on the transitioning markets of central and eastern Europe. To track the strategy of the leading players in Europe, Cécile regularly interviews industry executives and travels extensively to meet with retailers and suppliers.

She regularly presents findings from our continuous programme of research at conferences in Europe and has worked on many types of bespoke briefings commissioned by IGD’s clients ranging from a study trip to the US on ‘innovation’ for a leading European retailer to the strategic review of the Russian market by 2020 for a major branded supplier.

Prior to joining IGD, Cecile spent eight years at Marks & Spencer, where she held several regional management positions before joining the Insight & Strategy Team of M&S Food Business Unit as a strategic business planner. Her responsibilities included business reporting and the review of a wide range of business initiatives including promotional campaigns, pricing benchmarking, NPD and the trial of new retail formats. Cécile has also worked for leading retailer Edeka in Germany as a marketing assistant for their regional discount format Niedrig Preis.

Cécile holds a Master's in Management from ESCP-EAP.
