Gist People Services is an
HR and training business through which Gist
delivers NVQ training to its employees. It
opened four dedicated regional training
academies and trained 1,900 employees to Level 2
NVQ and 70 A1 assessors. A further 900 NVQs are
in progress, as well as 310 Skills for Life
courses. Gist has seen skill, performance,
safety and environmental benefits, and plans to
train all employees to this level within two
years.

and Development. This was an award for those in
Gist who have conceived and delivered training,
and for those who have so enthusiastically
participated as trainees.
I regard this as the
most prestigious award we have received because
it was so rigorously assessed; the trainees at
our Crewe depot were impressed by the interest
taken in them. The ceremony itself was superb
and the grandeur of the winner’s trophy took us
all by surprise! We have already begun to use
the award as part of our promotional activity
and the recognition we have received makes us
even more determined to deliver high quality
training to make a positive difference for our
people."
