Waitrose’s new specially designed milk eco-packs is another initiative by UK retailers in promoting their green credentials. The new pouches which use 75% less packaging than other milk containers are designed to offer shoppers a greener way to buy milk. The one-litre packs will cost 91p, which is slightly more than Waitrose's other lines of organic milk.

But how important are these initiatives to UK shoppers? Are they willing to pay extra for ethically sourced or sustainable goods? And what opportunities does this present to your business?

IGD's Consumer Unit has produced several reports researching the growth and effects of ethical issues on shopper behaviour. This free piece of research has been compiled to give you an insight into the ethical shopper, and how the grocery industry is reacting to ethical issues. Download your free copy today!
