Logistics in a Very Low Carbon World
The UK Climate Change Act commits current and future governments to reduce CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050. The Climate Change Committee is developing a rolling programme of 5-year carbon budgets to put the UK economy on a trajectory that will reach this ambitious target.
In this ‘blue skies’ presentation Alan will explore; the implications of this for logistics, the extent to which improvements in technology can help, the behaviour changes required, likely policy measures needed to induce changes and finally, pose the question to what extent will the climate change already ‘in the pipeline’ frustrate our efforts to adapt logistics to a low carbon future. |
