Couche-Tard's third quarter results, covering the 16 weeks to February 1,
2010, reveal that total sales increased by 26.2% year-on-year to $4.9bn.
This strong growth is mainly due to increased fuel prices in the quarter, the
positive impact from a strong Canadian dollar and growth in same-store
merchandise revenues, which increased by 3.0% in the US and by 4.9% in Canada.
Commenting on the results, Couche-Tard's President & Chief Executive Officer,
said:
"Overall, third quarter’s results are satisfying considering the motor
fuel gross margin recorded in our US markets. Despite a drop in US motor fuel
margins compared to the same period last fiscal year, we considerably improved
our performance."
