Mercadona has revealed gross sales for 2009 up 1% compared to the previous
year, along with a 16% fall in net profit.
Mercadona has focused on simplicity, optimising the assortment and price
innovation. Initiatives launched during the year have brought down prices by 10% and
the retailer claims to have saved families €720 on food per year.
