Tesco's US venture, Fresh & Easy, has begun selling a new range of fruit and vegetable products priced at 98 cents in response to growing pressures on household budgets. The range will cover six different products each week, and will be rotated depending on season and availability. The first produce packs being sold across stores include naval oranges, carrots and peppers.

Simon Uwins, Chief Marketing Officer at Fresh & Easy said "It's clear customers are trying to stretch budgets but they also tell us they don't want to compromise on quality or freshness."
