Tesco has launched a version of its website aimed at the UK's Polish
population. The website, accessible through
www.tesco.com/polski, is in both Polish and English and is designed to
showcase the retailer's range of Polish specific products. It also has a
dedicated store finder function which provides details of the nearest
Tesco store that stocks Polish ranges.
Linked directly to the core www.tesco.com
transactional site, the new site enables Poles to order their favourite foods
from home, such as meatballs, pickles, juices and biscuits.
Tesco's Polish food buyer, Kaska Teofilak, said "The huge demand for
Polish delicacies in Britain has overwhelmed us to the extent that we have
exceeded our original expectation by tenfold. The rocketing demand means
that Polish has become the fastest growing ethnic food range we have ever
launched, including our Indian and Chinese cuisines, so the launch of a
dedicated website for Poles is a logical step forward."
