This Blue Book details the work that has been carried out by the ECR UK Collaborative Green Distribution workgroup during 2006. Against a background of rising energy costs, traffic congestion, and concern over the impact on the environment of less-than-full distribution vehicles, this blue book showcases a number of initiatives to implement sustainable distribution strategies.
The workgroup looked at three different projects (conurbations, far-flung places, and multi-partner trunking), and this Blue Book shares the groups insight into the opportunities, challenges, learnings and future steps for creating multi-partner logistics solutions. The workgroup believes that collaborative green transport could make an important contribution to the industry in helping service consumers better, faster and a least cost in a more efficient and environmentally-friendly way.
